Greetings! I am Khyla D. Craine, and I am running to serve as a member-at-large of the NBA Board of Governors. I have the leadership and experience necessary to be a productive member of the Board and help lift the bar higher.

I previously served on the Board during the 2016-2017 Bar year while I was Chair of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD). As Chair, the YLD held successful events for the community such as a voter education summit in Houston and completing the Clemency Project, while also collaborating with the Women Lawyers Division (WLD) to co-create the annual Young Woman Lawyer of the Year award. Moreover, Past President Crump appointed me to the 2016 Police Reform Task Force; Past President Drayton asked me to co-chair the 2018 Election Protection project; and President Robinson appointed me to the COVID-19 and 2020 Police Reform Task Forces.  Outside of the Bar, I am a life member of the NAACP, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where I serve as the 2020 National Census Chair; Vice President of the Howard Law Alumni Association; and a member of the Junior League of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Upon election to the Board, I am committed to the following: 1) strengthening our connection with our affiliate chapters, 2) Increase membership, especially with new law graduates, 3) update procedures and policies to make the Bar more efficient and transparent, and 4) work to bring a solution to the fiscal dilemma that faces our sections, divisions, and other subparts.

Vote For Khyla D. Craine, as I am Ready, Experienced, and Driven to move our bar forward.
